Another door opens…
Hope all will enjoy this, less than perfect launch story.
Our drive off the lot with our used Fleetwood Discovery 38N was our first doorway into this new mobile life. The rig is just under 13ft tall and when it's been raining, like FL pretty much daily, the rain can pool on the giant slides on this bus. If you pull them in wet... when you drive off... ya get wet inside 😳 apply brakes for the first stop light and a water fall on my back and puddle in the back when I accelerate. Now my orientation mentioned this possible issue but we didn’t put the slides in, we picked it up closed after a big rain 🤔
We also took a "back road" back to the hotel parking lot where we boondocked for the night but back roads and this beast aren't the best plan. Few trees needed trimming 😏 made it fine but definitely a first drive lesson to remember! Will stick to major roads and hopefully avoid extremely tight traffic circles. Not sure anyone has ever seen a 40ft bus do a traffic circle that is about 50 ft across but we did!
Should have been filming for the first water fall down my back driving 😂 should have been filming first curb, second curb and so forth but for now the sunset, American Flag promo picture and the open road will have to do. More lessons and stories unfolding by the minute.
